Opening Night: Gimme Shelter @ the Coffee Butler Amphitheater

November 18 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

OPENING NIGHT

GIMME SHELTER @ THE COFFEE BUTLER AMPHITHEATER

SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY KEY WEST COUNTRY ARTIST NICK NORMAN PRIOR TO THE FILM
A Key West resident since 2005, songwriter Nick Norman recently inked a publishing deal with Fourward Music and Lee Brice's new publishing company Cock Crows Publishing. A show-stopping vocalist and sharp songwriter, Nick Norman brings humor, heart, southern storytelling, and soulful swagger to the country genre.
Building off its recently announced programming theme of films about music, the Key West Film Festival will open with an outdoor screening of Albert Maysles' “GIMME SHELTER,” the seminal film about The Rolling Stones. Called the greatest rock film ever made, "GIMME SHELTER” follows The Rolling Stones on their notorious 1969 world tour that culminated in an epic clash between the Love Generation and the Hell’s Angels at Altamont Speedway in San Francisco.

For the first time in its nine-year history, the opening night film will be screened outdoors at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater on Wednesday, November 18th, the 50th anniversary of the film's release.

The Amphitheater will be operating at 25% capacity to allow for ample room for social distancing.
Director: Albert Maysles, David Maysles, Charlotte Zwerin
Year: 1970
Extras: David Fear, Senior Editor of Film at Rolling Stone magazine, will deliver an introduction before the screening.
Event: Wednesday, November 18, 2020
