SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY KEY WEST COUNTRY ARTIST NICK NORMAN PRIOR TO THE FILM

A Key West resident since 2005, songwriter Nick Norman recently inked a publishing deal with Fourward Music and Lee Brice's new publishing company Cock Crows Publishing. A show-stopping vocalist and sharp songwriter, Nick Norman brings humor, heart, southern storytelling, and soulful swagger to the country genre.
Let's get loud! The Key West Film Festival launches its 2020 edition with an opening night screening of Gimme Shelter, marking the 50th anniversary of the Maysles Brothers epochal documentary, which follows the Rolling Stones along the fateful road to their notorious 1969 concert at the Altamont Speedway, east of San Francisco. Often considered the greatest rock'n'roll film ever made, this classic of Direct Cinema captures the fading end of the 1960s, as peace-and-love gave way to shocking violence, and the Stones' electrifying anthems evoke the very chaos of the moment. This very special event will be held at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater, in a public screening whose attendance is limited to 25% of the venue's capacity. The screenining will be preceded by a performance from Key West-based singer-songwriter Nick Norman. David Fear, Senior Editor of Film at Rolling Stone magazine, will introduce the film.
The Amphitheater will be operating at 25% capacity to allow for ample room for social distancing.
